Born to Write

If you are at all like me, you would love to have a book of your own published one day. Whether that be through self publishing or the good old tried and true method of finding a publishing agent. I have dreamed of writing my own book and having it published since I was a little girl. However, that is not the career path that I ultimately decided on. At least not yet. I’m only 22 you guys, I can change my mind if I want!

I have spent years working on what I hope can one day be my masterpiece of literary work. I’m not going to tell you much about the book right now because it is still very much in the works. However, I can tell you that as I have it planned right now it is an epic fantasy trilogy. Now before you can start asking about what kind of mushy teen romance I’m trying to conjure up, let me just tell you that I am by no means writing what I would consider a typical teen series. The book does not focus on romance and the main character has other, much greater, concerns than finding a forever boyfriend.

I have been working on this book for years now. Yeah, I know, a bit crazy, right? However, I want this book to be everything that I always imagined writing and publishing, so I am very careful with it. Of course, I also don’t have a ton of time to write, especially now that I have my daughter to take care of.

I don’t let that stop me completely, however. I still want to finish this book one of these days, and I have challenged myself to reach the 65,000 word mark by the end of this year! One way I intended to work toward that goal: a writing challenge!

The Challenge

So I am challenging myself, and anyone else who is interested in joining in, to work on their current writing projects! The goal is to write 15,000 words in a period of 30 days. I am starting on April 1st (I promise, no April Fool’s jokes here), and I will be finishing at the end of the day on April 30th. During this time I hope to come up with a couple of great posts to accompany the challenge and help inspire everyone to get their writing on!

So if you’re going to join me, be sure to comment down below and tell me about your projects! If you can’t reach 15,000 or want to do even more than that, pick your own goal and tell me all about it! Keep me updated on your progress! I want to hear from you guys and know in what ways you’re making strides in your own works!

If you’re joining me in the challenge, be sure to use #15000words30days on social media to help me find your updates on your progress! You can use that # whether your goal is 15,000 words or something else. Lets keep each other motivated and encouraged to reach all of our goals!
